Child Seats

Japanese law requires that children under six years of age must be seated in child seats.
* Please be advised that when fitted with a child seat, vehicles with three-seat rows will comfortably seat 1 adult + 1 child seat.

It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the child seat or infant seat is fastened properly.

If children under six will be riding in the car, please let us know when making the reservation. We also recommend using a child seat until a child can properly use an adult seatbelt, even if they are over six years old.

Winter Tires

・ Tires for winter that improve traction and breaking function on ice and snow. To prevent accidents, please reserve winter tires if there is a chance you will be driving on snow covered roads.

Snowy Regions
Hokkaido, Aomori, Akita, Iwate, Yamagata, Miyagi, Fukushima, Niigata, Toyama, Gifu, Nagano etc.

  • *Be sure to check the weather conditions for your day of pick-up.
  • *If not reserved in advance, you cannot reserve them on the day of your departure.

Snow chains or ski/snowboard racks must be reserved in advance.

If you wish to rent snow chains or ski/snowboard racks, Please make your reservation by contacting us at the email address shown on the reservation completion screen or by calling the TOYOTA Rent a Car Reservation Center. Available only in English.

Smoking policy

All cars and wagons reserved on the website, application and reservation center of Toyota Rent a Car are non-smoking vehicles.
