We would like to inform you that the Toyota Rent a Car Rental Agreement will be partially revised as follows:
【Main revisions】
■Changes in line with the Personal Information Protection Act due to service expansion
・Additional purposes for utilizing customer information, including the use of driving data to improve service quality.
・Additional methods for providing customer information to credit card companies.
■Partial name change in line with revised contracts for business operations
【Effective date】
April 1st, 2025
＊The revised Rental Agreement will apply to all reservations and rentals commencing on or after April 1st, 2025, at 00:00.

Toyota Rent a Car Rental Agreement (From April 1st, 2025)

Thank you for using Toyota Rent a Car.
As stated below, we would like to inform you that it will become necessary to input the PIN number at the time of using a credit/debit card with an IC chip.
In order to ensure our customers' security and prevent unauthorized uses, it will be necessary to enter the 4-digit PIN number when you use your card with an IC chip from Tue., April 1, 2025.
Please note beforehand that this will make it impossible to pay by signature.
If you are not sure about the PIN number, we would like the card holder to check in advance with the official webpage of the card company or with the contact center whose contact information should be written on the back of the card.
* The input of the PIN number may not be required, depending on the payment method or the amount.

To ensure a safer and more secure experience when using TOYOTA Rent a Car, we will introduce the cardholder authentication service "3D Secure 2.0" as a measure to prevent fraudulent credit card transactions. This service will take effect from Wednesday, March 26th, 2025.
■ What is "3D Secure 2.0"?
"3D Secure 2.0" is a security service designed to prevent unauthorized use of credit cards online. In addition to entering your PIN, you may be required to provide a one-time password or other authentication information to verify your identity.
■ Important Notice for Customers
Starting Wednesday, March 26th, you will need to register for the "3D Secure 2.0" authentication service with your card issuer. If your credit card is not registered, you will not be able to use it for transactions.
Please ensure that you complete the registration in advance through your card issuer’s website or other designated channels.
